Shall I release you.. Must I release you?

I've been thinking about so much lately and I don't quite know how to categorize what I'm thinking; where to put these ideas, thoughts and memories away. So they're there, still floating, resonating daily- I'm on a mission to find the place for them.

So i've decided the prominent memories are ones I will attempt to illustrate in a 3D form- in some sort of boxed diagram, with layered images and create an installation of sorts. I'm extremely excited to get this idea rolling, just need to get the right materials altogether! And I CANNOT wait to set up my new studio space at 301.. OHyeah.

Au Natural

Au Natural.

thread detail: head.

thread detail: spine.

This piece is a stretch of raw canvas reaching about 3' in length and about a 1' 5" in width.

Interested in keeping raw materials preserved, I used sharpie to begin the base drawing and used
a stain-painting method to fill the necessary spaces. To finish, I used thread to highlight areas
of interest to control the focal points with subtle delineation.

A couple small collages

I Feel like I'm Losing it.
I was losing it at this point- senior thesis on the horizon and a head full of jumbled wire. This collage is a combination of sharpie and thread- very simple, clean.

Fairy Tale Road: look ahead.
This collage consists of layered found paper, magazine imagery and a wintergreen transfer.

Winter 2009

Roundy Street.

Eleanor Rigby.
This past winter I really enjoyed playing with light, color and movement within the camera.
